Two capitals of Central Asia on one ticket. Tashkent is the Uzbek side: the old city around Chorsu bazaar and the Hazrati Imam complex, the Soviet-era metro with its decorated stations, and the mountain resorts at Chimgan an hour and a half out of town. Almaty is the Kazakh side, a city laid out under the Tian Shan with the mountains at the end of every street, the Medeu rink and the Shymbulak cable car above it, and the Kok Tobe hill for the view back down.
Both are easy countries for a Pakistani group to be in. The food is halal without asking, mosques are everywhere, and Urdu speakers find a surprising amount of shared vocabulary on signs and menus in Tashkent. Almaty is colder and more Russian in feel; by November both cities are properly cold, so pack for it.
This is a different trip from our Tashkent-only Uzbekistan arrangement, which is four nights in one city and is put together on request. This one is a fixed group with a published price, runs a week, and crosses into Kazakhstan.

- Under 2 years, 75 per cent off the adult price. From 2 to 8 years, 25 per cent off the adult price. Over 8 years, the full adult price. Tell us the ages when you enquire and the discount is shown on your quote before you pay anything.
- Travelling alone
- The price is per person, two sharing a room. On your own you get a single room and a supplement applies. Ask us for the single room supplement and we will put it in writing.
We apply for your visa
We do the applying
Visa services for both countries are part of the package and we apply on your behalf. Ask us what the route for your passport looks like and we put it in writing before you pay anything.
What we need from you
We send you the list of documents for your passport and check them before anything is filed. If an appointment, biometrics or extra papers are needed for your passport, we tell you what and when.
If it is refused
Visa, embassy and visa service fees are not refunded, whatever the outcome. Anything else not yet spent is refunded, and we give you the figure in writing before you pay.

What happens to my money if the trip falls through?
IBEX charges no processing fee and no cancellation fee of its own. Whatever comes off is what the airline or the embassy keeps, and we show you what it was. Ask us for the figure on your own trip before you pay anything, and we will put it in writing.
Is this a group departure?
A scheduled group departure. Everyone travels together and moves on the same transport.
